Changing the World
with Large‑Scale Computation
Using numerical analysis methods, our laboratory focuses on making
hydraulic, structural, and acoustic prediction more accurate and faster.
Physical phenomena are beautiful — and complex. Many of them are formulated in elegant equations, yet making computers solve those equations takes a great deal of ingenuity.
By reproducing the complex physical phenomena around us through large-scale computation, we visualize and quantify their impact on urban resilience, environmental load reduction, and the human environment. Through innovation in simulation technology for next-generation infrastructure design, we contribute to the safety and development of the world.

Achieving highly accurate flow analysis through FEM-based computational fluid dynamics, covering fluid phenomena at diverse scales — from river flooding to urban wind environments.

Our laboratory brings together students — from undergraduates to doctoral candidates — of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Chuo University, each applying their own strengths to research. Topics span a wide range of fields including hydraulics, structures, and acoustics, where we pursue more accurate and faster numerical analysis methods.
