Vehicle Driving Simulation with MR

Noise prediction has traditionally been presented as technical graphs and numbers, which are hard for the general public to grasp intuitively. We therefore developed a new evaluation system using the latest MR (Mixed Reality) technology. Wearing the dedicated goggles, you see simulated vehicles and the spread of their sound overlaid on the real landscape. You can even listen to the computed vehicle sounds realistically, as if you were standing right there. Because it lets people experience how things will actually sound at a given location — not just compute the numbers — the system is expected to contribute to better urban planning and noise countermeasures.
